These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTCS) apply to all coaching, sports training, and guiding services provided by CyclAventure, in compliance with Article L 321 of the French Sports Code, which governs supervised sports activities in France.
Cycling and Mountain Biking (including E-MTB, adaptive tandem, enduro, downhill, gravel)
Summer and Winter Hiking (including snowshoeing)
Mountain Running – Trail Running
Bike Mechanics Courses
Other activities supervised by qualified professionals
Participation in the outings and activities offered requires:
Good physical health (appropriate for the chosen activity). For mountain or technical activities, a minimum level may be required (specified in the activity description).
Appropriate equipment (see Section 4.2).
Compliance with the instructions given by the supervising instructor.
In accordance with the French Sports Code, the Client(s) will be supervised by a qualified professional for the practiced discipline, within the scope of their authority:
Mountain Biking (including technical trails): DEJEPS perfectionnement sportif mention VTT (MTB instructor).
Hiking, Trail Running, Snowshoeing: DEJEPS Accompagnateur en Moyenne Montagne (Mountain Leader).
Supervision Ratio: Varies depending on the activity, itinerary, and group.
Registration must be completed in advance via email, form, phone, or in person, subject to availability, and is subject to acceptance by CyclAventure.
A written confirmation (email) will be sent within 48 hours.
Payments can be made by check, bank transfer, card or cash at the time of booking confirmation and before the activity begins.
Deposit: 30% of the total amount for bookings made more than 15 days in advance (full payment required otherwise).
The departure, continuation, or route of an outing is subject to the instructor’s assessment based on:
Weather conditions (except in the event of an orange weather alert issued by Météo France for the activity area and period).
Terrain conditions (practicability).
Equipment compliance (clothing, PPE, bike).
Physical or technical abilities of participants.
Professional Civil Liability Insurance: The instructor is insured against risks specific to the supervised discipline at the activity location and holds a valid professional sports educator card, in accordance with Article L 321-7 of the French Sports Code.
Personal Accident Insurance: Strongly recommended for participants. It covers medical expenses, repatriation, etc. (not included in the price).
The Client certifies that they are in good health and fit to participate in the chosen activity. Any medical condition that could affect the safety of the Client or the group during the activity must be disclosed to the organizer and instructor (e.g., allergies, diabetes, attention disorders, cardiovascular issues, coagulation disorders, visual/motor/cognitive/neurological impairments, etc.).
Contraindications: Severe cardiac, respiratory, or joint problems. Consult a doctor before registering for the activity.
Minors: Parental authorization is mandatory for minors.
Mandatory Personal Equipment:
MTB/E-MTB/Gravel Biking: Approved helmet, gloves, sunglasses, closed-toe shoes, appropriate clothing, food, and water (quantities depend on the itinerary), bike suitable for the activity and in perfect working condition.
Enduro/Downhill (in addition to the above): Full-face helmet, back protector, knee pads.
Summer Hiking: Rigid-soled hiking shoes (high or low-cut depending on the itinerary and season), warm clothing, rain gear, hat, sunscreen, category 3 sunglasses, food, and water (quantities depend on the itinerary).
Winter Hiking (including Snowshoeing): Rigid-soled, high-top hiking shoes, warm clothing, insulated gloves, waterproof clothing, beanie, sunscreen, category 3 sunglasses, food, and water (quantities depend on the itinerary).
Trail Running: Shoes suitable for rough terrain, waterproof jacket, cap, emergency blanket, food, and water (quantities depend on the itinerary).
All Activities: Any ongoing medical treatments (prescription medications).
Responsibility: The Client is responsible for their own equipment. Any borrowed equipment must be returned in good condition (otherwise, repair or replacement costs will be charged). Rented equipment complies with the rental company’s terms.
Follow the safety instructions given by the guide.
Do not leave the group without authorization.
Respect the environment (wildlife, flora, fire prevention, stay on marked trails, take all waste with you).
Any failure to comply with these rules and instructions may result in the cancellation of the activity.
No refund will be issued in the following cases:
Withdrawal less than 48 hours before the activity (full payment is due).
Weather conditions, unless an orange weather alert is issued by Météo France.
Activity interrupted or not completed due to:
Insufficient physical and/or technical level.
Mechanical breakdown or failure.
Inadequate equipment (see Section 7.2).
CyclAventure may cancel or shorten an activity for the following reasons, before or during its execution:
Insufficient participants (minimum 4 people for group outings, unless otherwise agreed).
Unfavorable weather or safety conditions (decision made by the guide based on on-site assessment).
Force majeure (e.g., government restrictions).
In case of cancellation by CyclAventure:
Where possible, if the cancellation can be anticipated, notification will be sent to the Client 48 hours before the activity starts.
Refunds:
If the cancellation occurs before the activity begins, a full refund of the supervision fees will be issued within 15 days.
If the cancellation occurs during the activity (to ensure the safety of people and property), a partial refund may be applied on a pro rata basis. The pro rata is calculated as follows: (Actual return time to the planned arrival point - Actual departure time) / Initial planned duration
The Client authorizes CyclAventure to use photos/videos taken during activities for commercial or promotional purposes, unless written objection is submitted before the activity begins.
In the event of a dispute between the Client and CyclAventure:
Both parties will attempt to resolve the issue amicably (the Client must submit a written complaint to the professional or, if applicable, to the Customer Service Department).
If no amicable agreement is reached or if the professional does not respond within a reasonable period of one (1) month, the Client (as a consumer under Article L.133-4 of the French Consumer Code) may refer the matter free of charge to the competent mediator listed by the French Mediation Evaluation and Control Commission, namely: Société Médiation Professionnelle, https://www.mediateur-consommation-smp.fr, 24 rue Albert de Mun – 33000 Bordeaux, France
These General Terms and Conditions are governed by French law. In the event of a persistent dispute, the courts of Thonon-les-Bains shall have jurisdiction.
By registering, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these General Terms and Conditions.
CyclAventure reserves the right to modify these GTCS at any time. The applicable terms are those in effect at the time of booking.

A copy of the insurance certificate is available upon request.
